Bill Murray Movies. Adventures. Fancy Cheese. If you like any of these three things, we’ll get along great. If you like all three, you could just be the love of my life. Either way, I’m a fun-loving girl who’s new to the city and looking to meet some nice people. If you’d like to get together sometime, send me your favorite Bill Murray quote and we can start chatting.
I’ve worked at the online dating site and app Zoosk for over five years now and during that time I’ve seen a lot of profiles and learned a lot about what does and doesn’t work. To help you take your dating profile to the next level and to make sure you start chatting with and meeting more people, there are a few simple things you can do right away that can have a big impact.
I’ve been traveling throughout South America for the past three years, after working for Americorp teaching English. Getting to know so many other people and cultures has been a truly amazing experience but… I missed home! So now I’m back with more stories to tell and a whole lot of decisions to make about what I want to do next. It’s an exciting time and I’m stoked to soak up more experiences and get to know more people. Plus, I cannot tell you how much I missed a good burger. Delicious!

Our EliteSingles member survey about online dating profiles revealed that the biggest turnoff, according to members from countries all over the world, is sexual innuendo. 23 per cent of members concluded that it is the number one dating profile no-no, followed by negativity (22 per cent) and insufficient description (21 per cent). So when you’re sitting down to write your profile, bear this in mind. Even if you think something is funny and meant lightly, it will not be well received.
I know it’s tempting to just choose the five photos you look best in, but if those five photos are all selfies, or are all pictures of you hiking, or are all pictures that look pretty much the same then you aren’t doing yourself justice. Your photos shouldn’t only show how you look, they should show who you are. It’s always good to have one main head-shot, but also use a full body photo followed up by photos of you doing things you enjoy and photos of you in different settings.
When your profile is honest and accurately describes who you are, it guarantees that your date will look forward to meeting the real you. How wonderful is that! Instead of agonizing on trying to write the perfect profile, how about writing an imperfect one and explain why? It’s a very unique and different approach. Here is an example of what you can write:
Why it works: Unlike eharmony, which chooses your matches for you based on questionnaire results, Match has you create a profile that will pop up in other users' feeds. While Match does suggest five daily matches for you, you're also free to browse the entire pool of profiles by age range, location, or online status, which makes Match a significantly more social option than eharmony and slightly better for those looking for something casual. This freedom is great for the picky people out there whose idea of hell is a blind date. Match also has a cool feature called "Missed Opportunity" that uses your location to help you find matches that you've crossed paths with in real life. We'd also like to point out that Match sees a 42% spike in registrations between the December 26 and February 14, which makes sense — those cold months leading up to Valentine's Day can be torturously lonely. But if you were wondering when the best time to sign up is, it's right now.
If you are looking for love online, a great profile is key. Of course you need compelling photos, but those who are looking for a real relationship will look beyond a pretty face to find out what you are about. It would be nice if everyone could give you the benefit of the doubt and magically see what a fascinating, unique, loving person you are, but that’s not how online dating works.
Your profile isn’t just your first impression, in many ways it’s also the beginning of the conversation you’ll have with someone. If someone’s interested in messaging you, they’ll often go to your profile to find clues and hints of what to talk about, so as you’re writing about yourself think of things you could bring up that will make it easier for someone to come up to you. Whether it’s a favorite book, your relationship with your family, or the fact that you’re planning a vacation, little details they can ask you more about or comment on will make you more approachable.
Maybe you have a too busy working schedule to go get a date. Or, maybe you lack the confidence to approach people. Or, perhaps, you think that the things you like in bed are too unique and there may be no suitable partner to share your passions. Regardless of the reasons, we resent the idea of someone having to go to bed alone without having someone else’s warmth to enjoy or whatever one may enjoy doing in bed. Uniting all these swingers as well as single action seekers, this platform has thrived into a sex community where everyone is welcome and, so, turned into the ultimate adult friend finder. We are here to help you to put your loneliness at ease and realize your wildest sex fantasies. You may have thought that there is no possible match for your tastes and interests when it comes to sex, but we beg to differ. Our experience shows that there are extremely few truly specific kinks, and for the rest, we can always be of service finding an ideal match.
This next tip is especially for women—If you add a question or a conversation starter for the person looking at your profile to message you about, it can really help someone break the ice and message you first. It’s hard coming up with ways to start a conversation that aren’t the same tired, “Hi, how are you tonight?” messages. So help people out! Tell them to share their favorite book, tell you the last hike they went on, or to elaborate on something you’re interested in. You’ll get a lot more messages and have better conversations.

You should probably know that I somehow manage to spill guacamole on myself every time I eat it, which is often. If you can get past that, you’ll probably enjoy getting to know me. I’m a nurse practitioner and I absolutely love my job and my patients. It’s hard work, but I bring a lot of energy to what I do and always have some leftover to get into trouble on the weekends at my fav. local bar. (If you play your cards right, maybe we can meet there.)
Some of the dating profiles that stand out the most are the ones where someone’s personality and what really makes them different shines through…  and sometimes, well sometimes it can get a little weird. Whether you love grandma sweaters, tell corny dad jokes, or have read ever Harry Potter book over ten times, let people know. The oddball things about you, are what makes you who you are.
